Five Guys Burgers and Fries- Gluten Free!

Five Guys Burgers and Fries is ALL gluten-Free, EXCEPT their buns!!!! Right on their main page it says : "Zero Gluten, except for our buns"

How Awesome is this?!
Five Guys website:

The burgers are really good, and the fries, that come in regular or Cajun are good as well- they give you LOTS to a "regular" size is more than enough for 2 to share! They do cook the fries in peanut oil, so unfortunately, those with a peanut allergy would have to stay away. (they also serve old-fashion peanuts in the shell while you wait!) Just remember to ask that they change their gloves prior to making your hamburger because they are handling buns all day- so as to limit the cross-contamination changing gloves is a good idea! They have tons of toppings and a "regular" burger comes with 2 hamburger patties, and they have a "little" burger, which would only be one!

Here are the following locations on Long Island (Hicksville is "coming soon"). There are also a lot around the NYC boroughs, NJ, CT, PA and upstate NY.

NO NO dont eat the fries! I went there today to see how its done. Well..the cook, picking up the buns, grilling those, with same gloved hands picks up the raw fries and throws them in the fryer! WHAT? All thos crumbs on his gloves are now on the fries and in the oil! NOT SAFE!

OMG! Thank you for posting this comment! Whenever I've been there I have never witnessed this happening- but I could see how this easily could happen! I have been there on busy times- when there was 1 or 2 dedicated people just making the fries- not touching burgers at all- so I guess we have to "Watch" how it's made- and yes, eating out is always a risk for cross-contamination- and we have to keep this in mind! I konw I will visit much less from now on! THANKS again.

The Burger Garage on Jackson Ave/44th Drive in Long Island City has an extensive gluten free menu if you want a good burger and fries. They offer GLUTEN FREE BUNS for their burgers and hot dogs. Regular and Sweet Potato Fries are made in a GF designated fryer. A family member of the owner has Celiac Disease so they are well informed.
